My Leading Man

Okay, so this is for those of you who may not have heard yet. Kevin auditioned for, and got a part, in Curtains. It isn't a well known musical because it only opened on Broadway 4 or 5 years ago. It is a fun murder mystery that takes place in a Theater. He is going to be playing the part of Christopher Belling, who is the director within the musical. He is SO excited about playing this part and gets to dust off his English accent. The show goes from September 30th - November 12th at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse. He is double cast so as soon as we receive the information on which shows he will be in we will post them. I know that he'd love for everyone to come and support him.

I'm so proud of you Babe!!

Grillin' & Chillin'

Due to Kevin's persistence we went this weekend and bought a grill. The first in our married life. We have been having fun exploring all the different ways to marinade/cook. On Saturday night Kevin made us grilled Pineapple...yum! Then on Sunday he cooked lunch and dinner (this could be awesome for me!). We tried chicken and steaks. Also, we grilled corn on the cob, red peppers, onions and peaches (SO GOOD).

Hopefully the weather will stay nice for a little while so we can cook lots of other stuff. If you have a favorite marinade or rub send it our way. Kevin says that it is just in a man's nature to want to grill. We're very excited for our new toy.

I've included a picture below. It is just the perfect size for our balcony!

Dawnie's Birthday

So last week I turned 32. Kevin took me to breakfast before he had to go to work at Village Inn. I relaxed for most of the day and enjoyed my time off. My family met at Mom & Dad's house to have a pool party that night. We swam and had such a good time. Dad bought us pizza and we devoured it. Mom asked me what kind of treat I wanted for my birthday and I told her brownies. Well, there was a slight mix-up and she grabbed a "Mocha" brownie mix. Some at the party didn't mind the flavor but it was a good thing that we had ice cream as well.

Kevin bought me a SodaStream soda maker for my birthday. We are still figuring out the mix of flavor and carbonation but it is such a fun knew toy. Thanks babe...I love you!

My grandpa let us go up to the cabin on Thursday night until Saturday night. We loved the opportunity to get away from regular life and relax. We watched a lot of Arrested Development and ate yummy food.

I'm excited to know what 32 is going to bring. I'm ready for adventure!!

Cindee's Visit

Last weekend my sister Cindee came home for a visit. It was so great to catch up with her. She was able to be here for Lexie's 6th Birthday party. Before that we took my three nieces to Color Me Mine to paint. The Hadley girls picked Kitty Cats (Licorice & TBD) and Lexie chose a Dog (Rainbow). I made a spoon holder for the top of my oven. It was fun but a little stressful with three little girls in a room of ceramics.

On Saturday we met at Chuck-a-Rama for dinner and then swimming at Mom & Dad's house. The visit was too short but we loved every minute with her. Come home again soon!

Scott's Birthday

July 24th is Scott's Birthday. We gathered for a big party put on by Karen & Brian (including a homemade guitar cake). They made the cutest decorations. We had a great time eating and spending time together. Diane bought Lincoln & Ryan matching outfits and we just had to get some pictures of them together. Grandpa was so proud.

Independence Day

On July 3rd we celebrated with the Hadley Family by having a BBQ (with yummy skewers) and fireworks. The kids are getting old enough that they can play games and interact so much more with each other. It is so fun to watch. The kids didn't like the loudness of the aerial fireworks but all of the adults enjoyed it so very much.

On July 4th we went to the Purcell's for breakfast. We had waffles and they were delicious. We got our annual family picture with everyone in the shirts that Scott & Kitty so generously buy for us each year (I wear mine at least once a week...thanks!). We got a serious one and then a funny one aka how we act 99% of the time.

After breakfast we went to the Kaysville parade with David, Sasha, Katelyn & Zachary. We had so much fun watching all the floats and gathering candy. We went to Wendy's for lunch. Later that day we went swimming at our mom & dad's house. We had a great day.

We're so glad that we live in a free country and that we can celebrate this great land with our family. We love you all!

Hangin' With our Peeps

After we attended the temple with Diane we decided to hang out with Tony, Abby & Lincoln for the evening. We went to the Discovery Gateway and had just as much fun as Lincoln playing with all the fun toys. When we got done there we went and grabbed dinner at Applebee's. As you can see below Lincoln was tired and hungry and wasn't afraid to show it.

Bountiful Temple

On July 2nd we were able to attend the temple with Aunt Diane (Kevin's Aunt) while she was taking out her endowments. It was so awesome to be in the temple with the family and friends as we celebrated this special day with her. Afterwards we all went to El Matador for a Mexican Fiesta. So glad another member of our family can be with us forever!

Lincoln's Birthday

Back at the end of June we celebrated Lincoln's 1st birthday. It was a jungle theme party with yummy food, cake pops & fun. We got Lincoln an Elmo telephone that was programmed to say him name in different phrases. He love to talk on the phone and I think he's going to love it. He got a new swimming pool and decided to try it out. After a bath he went on a ride in his new wagon that just tuckered him out. We love this little boy. Happy Birthday Lincoln!
