Glen & Jeannie Come to Visit

Uncle Glen & Aunt Jeannie came to visit us from Arizona last week. We have so much fun with them and couldn't wait for them to arrive. Kevin & I took work off on Tuesday to play with them. We took them to Kneaders for Chunky French Toast (So delicious), saw Battle L.A., and took them to Maddox for dinner. We enjoyed every minute of the day. The next evening most of the family got together to go to dinner with them at Red Robin. We laughed and enjoyed each being with each other. Later that evening we went to Karen & Brian's house so that the girls could finish up some crafts they had been doing that day. I put Lincoln inside of the toy box and he enjoyed it so much. He just continued playing until I took him out. He is such a great baby. Thanks to Glen & Jeannie for spending their Spring Break with us! We love you :)

Roy 14th RS Birthday Social

I am the RS Counselor over the activities. We had our birthday social planned in March. We decided to go with an Italian theme. I made placemats with a word search, poem, word scramble & coloring to go on the tables like at an Italian restaurant. We had bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar for appetizers. We made a yummy ceasar salad. The plan was to have a pasta bar but we had some last minute problems. We couldn't get the water to boil at the church. Kevin was calm, cool & collected (yes...Kevin helped because he is the best husband EVER) and got everything together. We had homemade marinara sauce with meatballs & chicken alfredo sauce penne pasta. After dinner we had fun "Speed Friending" with the sisters. We lined up on opposite sides of tables and each person had 60 seconds to ask questions about the sister across from her. The sisters had a great time and we had a hard time getting them to stop talking after only 2 minutes. It was a lot of work but I think it was a great success.

Our Nephew - Ryan Scott Kelley

On the morning of Sun, Mar 6th our nephew Ryan was born. He was a little early and the doctors were a little worried about him so he had to have some antibiotics & oxygen the first 24 hours but he is just perfect. We couldn't go down and see him that day because they weren't sure what was going on but we braved a HORRIBLE snow storm the next night determined to hold our nephew. He is just so amazing and we are so glad to have him a part of our family. Joannie looked so great and took to motherhood so well. We only stayed for a few minutes because the new parents were exhausted. We went with Kitty, Tony, Abby & Lincoln to the Pizza Pie Cafe (PPC for the insiders) and had all you can eat pizza before returning home. We almost died a few times on the ride home with all the snow, ice and stupid drivers. I hit a GIANT pothole in Centerville and bent my tire but it was worth it to celebrate a new life.

McKinney Wedding Luncheon

We were invited to attend a wedding luncheon for Josh & Nastia. It was at a beautiful little reception center in Provo. We had a yummy luncheon and got to catch up with the family. Joannie was uber pregnant but was being a trooper. After we left the luncheon we stopped by the Provo donor center so that Kevin could visit all of his friends and co-workers down there. Then we went to Tony & Abby's house to rest. That night the three couples (and Lincoln) went to eat at Milagros and then went to WinCo to get treats to watch a movie (Two Weeks Notice...LOVE IT!). We love spending time with our family and hope that they had a good time as well.

5 Year Service Dinner

Kevin reached his 5 year service mark at HCA Healthcare last October. ORMC holds a catered dinner each year to celebrate 5-10-15-20-25-30-35-40 years of service (yes there was one woman who had been there 40 years). The event was held at the Ogden-Eccles Convention Center in the upstairs ballroom. The dinner was super yummy with salmon, prime rib & chicken with all the sides you can think of and cake for desert. Each employee had picked out a present beforehand and after some words from the CEO, Mark Adams, they were given their gifts. Kevin chose a really cool ring that he loves to wear. I am so proud of Kevin for sticking with this company even though there were hard times when he wasn't sure he wanted to stay. He loves where he is now and looks forward to many more years!

Joannie's Baby Shower

Okay, so clearly I am behind on a few posts but I figure better late than never. We had a baby shower for Joannie on February 27, 2011. Everyone did an amazing job. Abby made the most delicious Georgia sandwiches, Karen made and decorated the cutest cupcakes, and Kitty's friend made some adorable cookies (see picture below). Joannie received so many wonderful gifts for Ryan. We are so excited for our nephew!

Zoom Zoom

I have so much to catch up and blog about but I thought I'd start with our newest and most exciting news. We bought a new car last week. It is our first major purchase together and it feels good and scary at the same time. We are super excited to enjoy it for many years to come. Let us know if you need a ride!
